Accommodation
Jardin Bleu, is in a small quiet side street, 2 minutes walk from the local bar and café, which is almost next to a 17th century church.
After opening the metal gates onto the front terrace with old stone well, one enters the house into a large living room, with access to the kitchen, inner courtyard, garden with swimming pool, and stairs to the first floor. The living room has a number of sofas, and comfortable chairs, as well as a satellite TV (BBC etc), entertainment center (CD player and radio) and computer with internet access.
To the left is the kitchen, with double sink, washing machine, refrigerator, oven, and stove top, microwave, as well as dining table, with six chairs. There is a window, that overlooks the interior courtyard that is accessed from the living room, with barbecue, and small table, with chairs for dining, or private sunbathing.
On the otherside of the courtyard is a bedroom with 2 bunk beds, which also has direct acces to the garden with swimming pool.

There is also on the ground floor a bathroom, with shower, washbasin and WC, with access both directly to the pool and into the house.
Stairs go up from the living room to the first floor landing, which leads into the double bedroom, and at the other end of the landing, a bedroom with 2 single beds (that can be made into a double if desired). Beteen the 2 bedrooms is a full bathroom, with bathtub, shower, wash basin, and WC.
The garden at the back of the house, has a patio area, with table with chairs, as well as another barbecue, and the swimming pool (5m x 4m).

Autignac
The house is a couple of minutes walk from the center of the village which boasts local bakers (boulangerie), butcher and bar/café and a local general store. There is everything you need right in the village including school, post office, pharmacy, doctor, weekly visiting fish and shellfish vans from the coast and cheese and pizza vans, plus a twice-weekly fresh vegetable and produce market. A larger supermarket is just 6 minutes by car.
Just off the main road between Beziers and Bedarieux, in the Faugeres region, the village is full of interesting streets and houses, boasting of its prosperity at the end of the 19th Century. There are lovely walks in the surrounding countryside - easy to access from the house. If you are interested in history look at some old postcards of the village of Autignac
DESCRIPTION OF THE SURROUNDING AREA
There is lots to see and do in the area. Just 30 kms to the west is Roquebrun - known locally as the Nice of Languedoc, because of its warm microclimate - with swimming and canoeing on the Orb river; and impressive Mediterranean garden. Half an hour to the north is the impressive Gorges d'Heric for stunning views for walkers and climbers alike. For those that like Golf and Gambling - Lamalou les Bains offers both. If you like wine - the Faugeres produces some excellent reds, whites, rosés, with numerous wine caves to visit and taste.
To the south, Beziers, a thriving town, with cathedral perched on a hillside, (climb the tower - to enjoy a really stunning view), shops, restaurants, cafés. Wonderful events and fetes, including the well known Feria in the midst of August. Walk along the Canal du Midi, or take a boat ride, - a superb canal dating from the 17th century, wonderful for easy shaded walking, or biking.
If you want Mediterranean beaches - Valras Plage is only 25 minutes from Autignac - one of many places along the 100 kms plus golden sands of Languedoc - resorts that include such celebrity places as Cap d'Agde, and the fishing town of Sete - where jousting from boats occurs.
If you are looking for castles, Languedoc boasts some of the best including the medieval walled city of Carcassonne, which hosts international festivals throughout the Summer. For those seeking Cathar castles with giddy heights - drive down to Rivesaltes and head inland to visit Queribus and Pyrepertuse - where in summer you can feast and enjoy Medieval style romps.
