Petit Paradis a short walk away at end of street are green fields, orchards, views DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION Petit Paradis, is a village house, in the center of Alleins, pleasantly located near the old chateau, commanding views over the surrounding countryside, towards the hills of the Luberon, as well as to the Alpilles. Parking is often found directly outside the house, or in a parking area a few steps away. The facade of the house is partly covered by vines, that produce grapes in the latter days of Summer. Entry is into the "bar" complete with bar, accented with decorative pictures, and amusing lighting, for those adept at honky tonk a piano is found opposite the bar. A step down and you are in the living room with fireplace. Seating is amusing from a sofa, to a swing hanging from one of the beams. A TV with DVD is available for your use. Stairs go up to the first floor, - with a library office living space, with fold out sofa - suitable for one person - perhaps a couple - but its a bit of a squeeze! Walls are flirtatiously decorated with a panel with the immortal words "Je t'aime" next to a darts board. Kitchen To the right is the kitchen, with dining room table and 2 chairs (another 2 are available in the house). The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge, crockery. The atmosphere is cheeful, with joyful yellows and quintessential provence style decor. Bedroom |

ABOUT ALLEINS, SALON DE PROVENCE, AIX EN PROVENCE, AND AREA Petit Paradis is in Alleins, a quiet but active village, 13 kms north of Salon de Provence. People have been living here for 4000 years; - now you are able to see houses dating from the 16th Century, including the clock tower with its gateway, and the round tower, pretty much all that remains of the Chateau, that has commanding views of the area. The village has a delicatessen, grocery shop, bakery, hairdresser, beautician, medical center, and dentist. There is also a bar, a restaurant, a pizzeriaas well as market on Tuesday mornings For golf enthusiasts, three kilometres away is the Pont Royal golf course (designed by Severiano Ballesteros) at Mallemort 13 kilometers away is Salon de Provence, once home to the clairvoyant Nostradamus (now a museum). The Olive is at the center of the villages existence, and the manufacture of soap, and oil brought much acclaim. (Vist the Le musée de Salon et de la Crau to learn more). It ais a lovely town to visit with many a restaurant, or cafe to relax and enjoy the fruit of Provence - its joy of life. Half an hour drive away is Aix en Provence. Aix's center is the Cours Mirabeau, a tree lined avenue with cafés, bookshops, which are sometimes reflected in the water of a number of fountains along it course - including the Great Fountain at La Rotunda, and the moss covered hot water fountain that has been bubbling for 2000 years. The old town is a maze of shops, restaurants, museums, churches. Sights to see are the Granet museum, and the 13th century Eglise St Jean de Malte, and the Sextius Baths (18th century baths, in a large tree shaded park, near the original site of the Roman baths). For those seeking the sea - the nearest resort is Carry Le Rouet, 4o minutes drive. Carry was the favored resort of comic actor Fernandel, who built his family's house on the beach. The sea is known for a clearness, and the restaurants of the town for their fresh fish. Here enjoy the sea or walk along its shores along La Cote Bleue. If you seeking cosmopolitan energy - go to Marseilles, with a vibrant mix of port, museums, shops, night clubs and numerous restaurants. Go to the oldest stock exchange - La Bourse - in France which is now the Marine Museum, visit the Fine Arts Museum with a fine collection or art works; the Louis Grobert-Labadie Museum - a sumptuous art lovers 19th century mansion; Borély Park - an archaeological museum, with the 2nd largest exhibition of Egyptian art, after the Louvre; and perhaps follow in the steps of the Count of Monte Christo and visit the Chateau d'If - a prison built in 1524, that was immortalized in the story by Alexandre Dumas. ACCESS Nearest airports include Marseilles (35 mins), Nimes (65 mins), and Nice (120 mins). There is a TGV train station 20 mins drive at Avignon (3 and a half hours to Paris) |
