ABOUT ACCOMMODATION
"Adagio Salzburg Apartment" is in the exclusive Aigen suburb of Salzburg, where the "Sound of Music " Trapp family lived, and now is the home to such stars as Beckenbauer, and pop star DJ Ötzias.
Entry to the apartment is via tree lined streets, to a fine old building, that has been divided into only six units.
Adagio is on the ground floor, with its own secure entrance. Parking is easy as there is provided underground parking.
Dining area of Living room
Entering the apartment one enters a classic environment. A short entry hall enters into a large well lit living dining room, with glass french windows opening onto the terrace, where you can dine outside, looking over your own 300m2 garden.
The living dining room includes a round dining table with 4 chairs, 2 large sofas, as well as a number of easy chairs, and small tables.
Kitchen
To oneside is the fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, refrigerator, cooker, electric hob, extractor fan, work surfaces, and breakfast bar, with bar stools.
There are two large double bedrooms, as well as a bathroom with bath, shower, and washbasin. There is a separate WC.
The apartment has central heating.

SALZBURG AND SURROUNDING AREA
The Adagio apartment is just 10 minutes cycle ride from the old city (there is a bike path that follows the banks of the river Salzach); there is also ample public transport to get you to all the sights. For those seeking nature pursuits the Gaisberg mountain peak and park borders a short walk away.
Salzburg, famous for its famous son - Mozart, and its pretty old town, and narrow streets with its Festung Hohensalzburg castle riding the craggy cliffs of the Monchsberg Mountain. This is the town to enjoy coffee shops, and for those seeking an embrace of the romantic - the clip clop of horse drawn carriages.
Whats to do? Take a jaunt to the top of Festung Hohensalzburg castle for a truly stupendous view of the town, its river Salzach, and the background of the Alps. For lazy bones the Funicular railway is another option to visit this Prince Archbishops Palace, festooned with opulent rooms, museums.
Follow one of the Archbishop's conquests - Salome Alt, by visiting her home - Schloss Mirabell, and its lovely gardens the Mirabellgarten that might tweak memories, as it was used in the Sound of Music film.
Mozart of course is ever present - with three museums toasting his life - Mozarts Geburtshaus, Mozart-Wornhaus, and the Mozart Ton und Filmuseum - where you can court his musical life to the full. Of course the Salzburg Festival from late July to end of August (as well as Whitsun May 29 - June 1 2009 stages his music as well as other composers.
If you enjoy getting buzzed by beer - then visit Stiegl's Brauwelt, Austria's largest brewery - where part of the tour you can imbibe a couple of free beers - perfect to quench that thirst!
This is the town for walking, and enjoying the town and surrounding country - there are many marked paths you can follow. For historic sights - 4 kms south is Schloss Hellbrun, where you can test your ability to miss the trick fountains in the gardens. For sights further afield - but good for a day trip is the infamous mountain Eagle's Nest retreat of Hitler at Berchtesgaden.
For a nobler castle visit Burg Hohenwerfen, a dramatic castle, on a mountain top, where amongst the dungeons, state rooms, chapel, there a falconry museum, where you can be entertained and instructed in this ancient sport and watch the birds swoop in the tremendous countryside surround. Also visit Eisriesenwelt Hohle - the largest accessible ice cave in the world - which requires a certain agility to visit as there is a fair amount of climbing 1400 odd steps during the tour.
