Villa Antoine is surrounded by vineyards, but also next to the owners
house, that is 5 minutes from shops, supermarket, and restaurants in
the neighboring village of Rieux Minervois. The villa with its swimming
pool, is ideally located to discover all the joys of Languedoc - from
the Minervois wine that is made a few steps away! to the Cathar chateaux,
abbeys, villages, and lovely landscape and beaches that make Languedoc
so special.

Antoine, is placed on the rise of a small hill, overlooking the vineyards
of the Minervois, with distant views of the Corbieres, and the Pyrenees.
The villa is neighbour to the owner's home, where the owner makes
fine Minervois wine - that is served at restaurants in Paris and
New York. The nearest village is 3 kms away - where you will find
shops, restaurants, etc.
DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION
Villa Antoine, is approached by a driveway, where there is ample parking,
and a path to the pool, and entrance.
The swimming pool is surrounded by a security fence, as well as sun loungers,
and other pool furniture. There is a wide terrace, creating a perfect
place for outside dining, and bathing, with beautiful views across vineyards.
On entry one immediately enters a large living, dining, kitchen area
with sliding glass windows that open onto the terrace.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven with 4 ring cooker,
and all the utensils for cooking. There is a dining table to seat 6,
plus a couch, and various armchairs, around a TV with CD and radio entertainment
center.
There are 3 bedrooms. 2 with doubles, and one with 2 single beds. There
is a bathroom, with shower, and washbasin. There is a washing machine
in the utility room
One of the owners is a master chef, and can provide meals, day or
night, on command, offering a wide choice of dishes from the terroir,
region, and France. She worked as a chef in fine restaurants in Paris
and Brussels. From a full evening dinner, to a picnic lunch that features
fresh local products, all can be provided at a reasonable price.
The pool is used principally by the clients of Villa Antoine, but not
exclusively - the owners use it from time to time, sensitive of course
to your privacy.
ABOUT VILLA ANTOINE AND SURROUNDING AREA
Villa Antoine is surrounded by vineyards and is only a few minutes drive from the village of Rieux Minervois, which has all the services, shops, restaurants, bakeries. Wine can be purchased directly from the owner, or from one of the many wine caves in the area. Minervois, La Liviniere, boast some of the best wines available.
Close is the abbey of Caunes Minervois, with its music concerts, and sculpture exhibitions (the area around Caunes Minervois is internationally known for its red marble that was used in the Paris Opera and at the Vatican. Also close is Lastours, where 4 castles bring back to life their previous existence as bastions of troubadours and romantic poetry, before being vanquished during the Crusade against the Cathars. Much older remains can be found along the ridges of the Minervois hills in the form of dolmens, with one of the largest near the village of Siran, which is quite near.
Of course for outstanding history and beauty nothing quite matches Carcassonne for its famed Cité, which glows with music, medieval pageantry, during the festivals over the Summer. For leisurely relaxation, the Canal du Midi, is excellent for cycling along, or for a picnic, or renting a boat for the day. For those seeking the Mediterranean - miles of sandy beaches await at Narbonne Plage, Gruissan, Leucate Plage, and beyond, for those that love the sea, and sea bathing.
For activities - there are golf courses at Carcassonne, Beziers, and St Pons. For swimming and water sports the inland lake at Lac de Jouarres offers many opportunities. The upper reaches of the Aude, are great for kayaking, and white water rafting. Walking and climbing abound at every turn, for the rock climber there are routes near Caunes Minervois, and little further at Gorge d'Heric. For gastronomic pursuits, La Liviniere, and the Minervois, the Corbieres, boast a seemingly bottomless glass of endless degustation and enjoyment of great wines. Throughout the year there are numerous village fetes that celebrate the traditional foods and products created by artisans in the area .... often accompanied by music and art festivities.
